I processed the RAF to taste in LR as best I could, then took that RAF, made a DNG, then copied the adjustments to the DNG (excluding sharpening). It should be sharp everywhere as long as I focused correctly. Sorry for the large files, but some examples from the same photo. The cool thing is, since this is DNG, I can copy adjustments from one file (excluding sharpening) and copy into the DNG and get the same look.yet drastically different details. I don't know if LR's lens profile mechanics are off, but it ends up seriously smudging the corners. I've noticed, flipping back and forth between a RAF in LR and a DNG imported into LR, that LR seems to apply slightly more distortion correction. LR does some really, really shitty lens corrections in the corners for some reason. The strange thing is, it's not just the level of detail.

I've found I most like "Detailed" render and "Medium" sharpening from Iridient, then I have to disable the sharpening that LR wants to apply upon importing it.

Not everybody is a pro maybe, but there are enough of those in your potential userbase (or what's left of it) to at least give them options, preferences, ways to cancel stuff, and easy ways to manage catalogs etc. Making things simple and accessible does not mean you treat your users like some idiots too stupid to decide if a process should run to it's bitter end or not. I normally am totally fine with using beta software, but Luminar 3 hasn't reached a state yet where a developer worth it's salt should even show it to anybody outside his cave, releasing it to your users is doing you as a company more harm than being late (again) would have done.Īnd things like a startup wizard you can't close or stop or an image import dialog that has no way to cancel it if it takes hours is - sorry - pure incompetence on the part of whoever thought that out. People coming from other software may do that a lot since often it's the zoom function there.

Even with just a single image loaded it's unusably slow, the image database is broken completely and grinds along like something from the 90ies, even with just one image folder in a catalog. So far it's not even an Alpha version in my book and has problems so basic it's not even funny. So we can only hope that at one point you finally get Luminar 3 off the ground.
